Terms of use
What you can expect from UptimeScout, and what you cannot.
Effective 16 September 2026 · Provider: Eonix (Pvt) Ltd (“we”)
1. Licence
UptimeScout is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These Terms add information specific to UptimeScout. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA governs.
2. What UptimeScout does — and does not do
- Checks run on your devices, not on a server. There is no UptimeScout service running anywhere. HTTP(S), TCP, DNS and SSL checks run inside the app on your own Mac, iPhone or iPad.
- On a Mac, checks run only while it is awake. They do not run while the Mac is asleep, shut down, offline, or while UptimeScout is not running, and results can be delayed by system power management.
- On iPhone and iPad, checks run while the app is open and, when iOS allows, from time to time in the background. Background refresh is scheduled by the system and may run late or not at all, so alerts can arrive late.
- Notifications are best effort. Delivery depends on your notification settings, Focus, network conditions and the operating system.
- Synced results are as fresh as their source. Checks another of your devices runs reach this one through iCloud, which delivers when it delivers — and only while that device is awake and online.
- Connected services report their own data. UptimeScout displays what Uptime Kuma, UptimeRobot, Better Stack or Cronitor return and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy or terms.
UptimeScout is not a substitute for a redundant, always-on monitoring or alerting system. Do not rely on it as the sole means of detecting outages of critical systems.
3. Your responsibilities
- Only monitor hosts and services you own or are authorised to test, and choose intervals that do not overload them or breach the terms of the service being checked.
- Keep your API keys confidential and use read-only keys where the service offers them. You are responsible for your accounts with connected services and for complying with their terms.
- Comply with applicable laws when using the app.
4. UptimeScout Pro subscriptions and purchases
- Pro is offered as an auto-renewable monthly subscription, an auto-renewable yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store for your storefront before you buy; the pricing page lists United States prices for reference.
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions may include a free trial for eligible new subscribers. When the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of a free trial). Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, Pro access ends.
- Use Restore Purchases in the paywall or Settings to restore Pro on another device signed in to the same Apple Account. UptimeScout is a Universal Purchase: one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- Family Sharing is not available for UptimeScout Pro.
- If Pro ends, your monitors and settings are kept; the free plan’s limits apply again — the three oldest local checks are run, the oldest source syncs, intervals return to at least 60 seconds, 24 hours of incident history is displayed, and Pro-only features lock.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UptimeScout is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted operation and non-infringement. We do not warrant that checks, alerts, syncing, widgets or connected-service data will be timely, complete, accurate or error-free.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, including losses caused by an outage that UptimeScout did not detect or report in time. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited as set out in the Standard EULA. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms. The current version is published on this page with its effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
